After the race, Doug said he had fun on the course and "felt good on his second and third laps, despite a root ball getting him every lap" and "even managed to impress a few crowd members on the LoneWolf descent." He did not finish within smelling distance (which is 5 minutes, if you were wondering). But I am sure the "two brothers from different mothers" will continue to chase each other around, especially next weekend.

Melted at Castlewood
Course and race were top notch this year at Castlewood. I caught up with Doug Davis racing the marathon class. His goals were to "beat Mike Best or be within smelling distance."
This is a tall order, and the two traded jabs before the race. When I asked what Doug's most important piece of equipment was, he said it "ain't my legs, but my secret weapon was the 32oz Dos Equis I had last night." Mike said it's his "Thudbuster."

In other news, I made a sequel to this. When I got ready to publish it, I discovered they started charging a fee. I figured it's not worth spending the cash for five people to waste a minute of their life.
