Yesterday was a driving day that ended in an awesome mountian bike ride around Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs while Chula hiked. After the drive we needed the fresh air. I then hit up a little skatepark with transitions that were so mellow it was hard to ride but perfect for learning and not getting hurt. After a fat meal of Jamican food, sleep came easy. I was hoping to wake up early and go for a ride while Chula slept in, but my bike was stolen. One lock cut and the other broken and now it will be a hike this morning. I hate thieves not only because they took my gear but because now I will miss some rides in new places. It can only get better (knock on wood) because I cannot sink much lower than losing a bike.

Nate,
What size bike do you and meg ride? I can probably find you a bike to ride while you are in California.
Jennifer is going to be home on Monday. I don't arrive back from DC until Tuesday night.

I think Colorado Springs has some bad ju-ju....I swear. Don't let this ruin the trip. Use it as an excuse to get a new set of wheels! Travel safe, guys.

Uggh that sucks!
20 locks next time?
I hope you have some kind of insurance for this, but probably not.
Sort of related: I had a minor robbery the other night as well. Normally I garage my vehicle, but forgot to pull it in (so of course I forgot to lock it). Next morning I found my wallet laying on the floor board with all the cards in it slung out and the wallet was empty of it's cash.
So that's the bad news. I simply lost some cash. The good news is that the thief didn't take any credit cards and happily didn't take the garage remote on the visor. They didn't even steal the Oakley sunglasses.
Pretty lucky I guess. Maybe somehow you are pretty lucky too. I'm sure if you think about it hard enough you'll see that it's true.
