Problems

I have a wheat addiction. I dream about scones, cookies, cake, biscuits and pasta. A local bakery has my number. "Will that be baguette or ciabbata today, Dr. Verts?" Both. It is like a bike shop: They always have something new that I want. It is not just a bakery addiction. I love to bake -- cookies, cakes, scones, pasta, bread. Last week Chula got a book from the library titled "Artisan Breads" and casually left it on a table. Looking through it after work, I started talking to myself, and Chula inquires, "What are you babbling about?" "This is porn for bread addicts," as I drool. Inspired new creation = cranberry bacon scone. Friends and co-workers warn of the evils of wheat. "Empty calories, inflammation, your going to get fat, diabetes, it will make you slow, insulin crash." I know the risks and am willing to take them. Just like all addicts I have other interest, kumquats.

If you are a gluten junky you must own "The Cheeseboard Collective" cookbook.
