Burnin 09

I was concerned about the serious racing abilities of my teammates and me being the weakest link. They humored me, and it was mostly mellow other than an old college rival. (BH sends his love Bunny.) Once again the person who runs like a baboon with club feet got voted to go first for the run. I put on my little black dress (thanks ProPam) hoping it would get me a front row spot for the run, but I ended up about three rows back and got elbowed back to about 20th when I hit the woods. BH rolled out next, followed by Double Shot who set the record time of the day on a course he had never ridden and a bike he had only ridden an hour with a completely new wheel size. I am getting a 29er again. We traded laps and the wheels were staying on our little goofy wagon. Then my teammates realized they might win if they each did four laps, and I only did three. So just like highschool P.E. class, I got benched. The plan was working, then Midwest Cadel (aka Shot, or the Rider of Constant Bike Sorrow) took off for his last lap and suffered multiple chain breaks with no tool and light failure. Butthead and I set off in a search-and-rescue after hearing reports of him walking. For all the tough love BH dishes out in the BoCoMo peloton, he was ready to do whatever it took to make sure Shot was OK. Most people never see this side of BH, the concerned and genuienly nice guy rather than the "if I cannot beat them physically I will get in their heads and f*** with them" BH. The little wagon finished third on the day. What does the weakest link bring to Burnin at the Bluff? I nice jump suit and a size 4 Jenny Ellis dress that's what. Just when I had seen almost everything, I think I saw this.

Love seeing the CBC kit in the photo... And love the kind words of BH. He is especially fun when you get the chance to drop him... priceless.
