Make a long weekend longer.

Chula wanted to go for an adventure. We loaded up the bikes and road to Franklin to camp. This was an ambitious ride for Chula because the only exercise she has gotten in the last year has been sitting at her desk, cursing. We rolled in, set up camp, showered then hopped on the bikes for a quick trip over the Missouri River to Glen's Cafe located in the Fredrick Hotel. Chula justified the onion rings "I rode my bike to Boonville, you bet we are getting the onion rings." I put up no argument. She did cut me off for my own sake, and I owe her one for that.

We woke up to rain which encouraged us to sleep later. Finally I got hungry and was looking at a map posted outside the restrooms, hoping to find a close restaurant. When this guy drives from his camp site 15m (that's meters) away. HuH? You are camping and might get a little wet so you drive 15m? Huh? We arrived at a canned gravy restaurant and each drank a pot of coffee, picked up some wild turkey hunting/cooking tips, and waited until the rain let up, then rolled back to BoCoMo.

Riding a loaded bike sure opened up my legs for the next days adventure with ProPam and BH. I scouted out a ride last year to Boonville then to Jefferson City and back to BoCoMo on mostly pavement, but some gravel and trail sections totaling about 180km. It was the first hot day of summer, and I got cooked. Monday was another gravel adventure that left me crippled and hungry. Luckily work starts tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. so I can get a little rest.

Geez, you should have ridden with Barbie and I on Sunday - 130 miles of crippling heat on gravel and pavement on probably a similar course to what you rode!
